Melissa Sweet Gown Designer
I have to say wedding gown designer Melissa Sweet is the sweetest person on earth. She is so talented, funny and inspiring. I have always been a fan of her designs and was so happy to finally meet Melissa Sweet, guest speaker at the Georgia (ABC) Association of Bridal Consultants February meeting. Where can you find her gowns? Well, there are two lines of gowns including the Melissa Sweet Sacred Line that retails from $5,000 to $15,000 and also Melissa Sweet for David Bridal. I was so glad when my niece selected one of her gowns to wear on her wedding day! Check out some of her gorgeous designs below.

Real Wedding - Megan and Travis
I wanted to share a few pixs from Megan and Travis' wedding. This cute couple were married at Peachtree Christian Church and later hosted a lavish reception at the Biltmore Ballroom. I will be adding their gallery to my website soon - so stay tuned for more pixs. Congrats Megan & Travis.

A Day in the Life - Planner & Assistant
Saturdays are typically a whirlwind for me and assistant Amber when we don't have weddings or events. After a full morning working at the studio, we took a break for lunch then we headed to one of my favorite places Kudzu Antiques, which is around the corner from my Decatur studio (danger, danger). We did eventually make it back to the studio and the paperwork pile!

What's more romantic than cooking for your sweetie? They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Below are two great dishes and table decor ideas from Seductive Tables for Two by Moll Anderson. She has several tablescapes and recipes where you can draw inspiration. Love Amber.

Paper Floral Artistry by Balushka
When I needed a paper artist for my anniversary party/photo shoot last year, I didn't have to look any further than Texas based Balushka who makes incredible paper flowers (hope to share images soon). So when she asked me about doing a bridal show in Atlanta - I told my dear friend to catch the next plane smoking - lol! Yep, she made a love connection with Mr. David Tutera who will be working with this talented artist soon.
According to Balushka, "back when I was in fashion school my professor asked me to create a paper floral backdrop for a client's advertising campaign. It was spring break 2011 and I agreed. I had no idea how to make paper flowers. The first flower took 4 hours to construct. I made 2 flowers to show the client and they ordered 50! (originally they were only talking about 20 flowers ). While making the flowers, I was working 18 hours days 7 days straight and realized that I wasn't tired, I was happy! So, I decided to create a business paper floral business. I decided to leave the fashion world for paper floral :). I have a master's in Math and Economy so this helps with the business side. I started with weddings and now expanded to home decor, nurseries, offices, corporate parties, bar and bat mitzvah, birthday, etc. I do rent and sell my flowers nationwide, worldwide. I have operated Paper Floral Artistry business since July 2012".

Where Art and Events Meet
On the corner where art and events meet - you will find me! I am inspired by my surroundings. Some people see plates - I see artwork. A grouping of plates can make a big statement on a wall as well as a great conversation starter. This artful collage featured on Apartment Therapy would take any outdoor event from drab to fab. Think possibilities!
