A Day in the Life - Mandarin Oriental Hotel

As a planner, we always see to it that our brides are pampered. So it was finally my turn to be pampered by the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta hotel. The event "A Day in the Life" gave me a snippet of the bride's day. A lot of my brides stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Atlanta the night prior to the wedding because of the amazing amenities such as a full service bar, five star cuisine and award winning first class service. There is no better way to get ready for the big day!

Last weekend, I checked into the hotel - can you say upgraded room? And, a tray full of macaroons with a sweet note greeted me upon arrival. That bed was heavenly. I slept like a baby - oh my! 

Day one, the first stop was the spa for a massage, steam room and whirlpool treatments. Later I had feasted on yummy cocktails and appetizers at the Taipan Lounge that featured live entertainment. Day two included a tour of the hotel and private residences followed by lunch and a cake tasting.  Life is good! Well, the debate continues - cake topper or no cake topper? I have never been a fan of fresh flowers on cake even though they look pretty, uhm! Do you need a cake - NO! This dress, this dress is the biz! What a stunner...actress Lupita Nyong'o wore this aqua blue Gucci dress on the red carpet at the SAG awards where she won Best Support Actress. Check out those straps made of flowers. This dress would be oh so lovely in White as a wedding gown.

Vow Renewal - The Story of Us

I came across this stationery on Paper and Home. There is something about a vow renewal that melts my heart. The renewal isn't about starting over, but more about celebrating the years as husband and wife. I did a vow renewal at 15 years because it was a milestone that I wanted to document. It was such a special day that was intimate family moment. The stationery below says it all "the best is yet to come".

Wedding Floral Bouquet Alternatives

Think outside the box when incorporating unique wedding items. Instead of traditional bouquets, my bride Chantay decided to use clutches that could be repurposed by her bridesmaids after the wedding. By incorporating a peacock clutch along with peacock feathers and fresh flowers created a WOW effect at the wedding (floral designed by Shonda Cheris).

Charm Locket by Origami Owl

One of best presents that I received last year was the Origami Owl locket. I do LOVE it! My charms include something blue, a heart and engagement ring (everything a wedding planner needs).
