Office - Perfect Signature Piece

I'm starting a series on office decor (home or studio) starting with a WOW statement piece. I picked a statement piece for my office that would last a lifetime - a mirror credenza. The crendenza's main purpose was to provide storage since I didn't have a closet and needed a way to hide items. Also, if I decided to close my office, this piece would look great in my house and could easily be incorporated into my home decor.

The credenza has increased in value - I purchased my Borghese from Z Gallarie six years ago for $899, the same piece is now valued at $1299 on their website.

Decide on a statement piece that will work best for your space....chairs, table, bookcase, desk. Check out some of my favorites from Pottery Barn, Z Gallerie and World Market. Once you have a statement piece then you can start pulling in accessories as you build your perfect office space.

Book Alert - David Stark The Art of the Party

I have been a fan of David Stark for years #guy crush! His designs are some of the most innovated, creative and over the top that I have seen. I just ordered my book and can't wait to check it out. David is known for his paper designs. And, for those who know me also know that I LOVE paper (flowers, garland, stationery). One thing that always peeks my interest is a massive COLOR explosion that always appears in his designs. Head over to David's website and be prepared to be inspired!

Blogger Event - Blogger is the New Entrepreneur

I had a great time at Talking with Tami's Blogger Event - "Blogger is the New Entrepreneur" (so true!) I'm still going through all of my notes and finding new ways to take my blog to the next level. I have also added several books to my reading list - $100 Start up and Laptop Millionaire. We dined at Nancy's Pizza in Buckhead while listening to words of wisdom from Talking withTami and guest speakers, Quad from reality show Married to Medicine and designer Reco Chapple from House of Chapple. Former Xcape member LaTocha Scott from reality show R&B Divas was also in the house. You are never too old to learn!

The Luminous Portrait Book

I just received my book The Luminous Portrait Book by Elizabeth Messina. The photos are STUNNING! I have always been a fan of her work and even had a chance to meet her at Mindy Weiss' event in California. Her blog is a daily read that never disappoints. As an author, I can attest how much work; sweat and sleepless nights go into photo shoots, selecting images, paper and more. I'm so excited to add this to my wedding library.

A must have look book

Amy Atlas: Sweet Designs Bake It, Craft It, Style It

I heart Amy Atlas! I was so excited when I heard she was doing a book tour (Sweet Designs: Bake It, Craft It, Style It) with William Sonoma. The book is filled with recipes, tips and tons of sweet treat photos. This book is a must have addition to your library - can't wait to bake up some goodies soon.
